Abstract
A pot experiment was carried out during two successive seasons to study the effect of paclobutrazol, pinching treatments and the interaction between paclobutrazol and pinching on cestrum nocturnum plants. The data revealed that using paclobutrazol produced the best vegetative growth and increased branch length at the rate of 600ppm, chlorophyll (a) content increased with 600 ppm PP333, However chlorophyll (b) content increased with 500 ppm, carotenoids content increased with 600 ppm. Effect of pinching on Cestrum nocturnum plants, treated with pinching twice significantly increased the vegetative growth, fresh weight of shoots and roots, chlorophyll (a) and chlorophyll (b) contents lowed in shoots. Pinching head cut once increased caroteniods content, nitrogen percentage, phosphorus percentage and potassium percentages decreased in roots.
