Abstract The use of propylene in the production of polypropylene polymer and other chemicals needs high purity propylene. Propane/propylene separation is one of the most energy intensive distillations practiced worldwide. Thus, existence of another less energy consuming technique is crucial. This thesis aims to study the chemical absorption technique for propane/propylene separation and compare it economically to the distillation technique.
