Abstract

The morphology of the digestive system and its angioarchitecture (the arterial supply and the venous drainage) were demonstrated on seventy adult healthy ducks and geese. the gross morphological features includes the difference between the two species in; the shape of the torus lingua of the tongue, the number of the lateral conical papillae that anastomosed with the bill lamellae, the length of the spindle - shaped crop, the architecture of the muscular stomach, the number of the jejunal loops, the position and the shape of the liver lobes and their bile ducts as well as the pancreatic ducts in addition to the spleen shape and its relation to other parts of the digestive tract. The arterial supply of the digestive system of the ducks and the geese is oriented by; the two common carotid arteries and their terminal branches, the dorsal proventricular artery, the right and left branches of the celiac trunk, cranial and caudal mesenteric arteries as well as the cloacal branches of the internal puodendal artery. The venous drainage of the digestive system of the ducks and the geese is formed of; the two jagular and their terminal tributaries, cranial proventricular, the left and the right hepatic portal veins in addition to the bursocloacal branch of the internal puodendal vein
