The study aims، in general، to identify the role of the university in the development of the Egyptian village، and several sub-objectives emerge from this goal, represented in: identifying the extent of the university’s contribution to social development, identifying the extent of the university’s contribution to economic development, and identifying the extent of the university’s contribution to development political, in addition to identifying the most important suggestions that would improve the role of the university in development.
The study was conducted on a sample of 450 individuals، from the village of Qambesh، affiliated to the Biba Center in Beni Suef Governorate، in addition to conducting interviews with some officials in the local administration in the village and some rural pioneers and an interview with the Vice President for Community Affairs and Service، based on the descriptive approach.
The results of the study revealed that the role of the university in the development of the Egyptian village from the point of view of the villagers came to a weak degree.The researcher presented a number of recommendations and suggestions aimed at improving and activating the role of the university in the development of the community and the village.
