Abstract The adoption of health-related behaviors in various aspects of life during pregnancy can be a safe strategy to maintain and improve maternal and child health and reduce the risk of pregnancy-related conditions Aimed: to investigate health- related behavior of pregnant women in Port Said city. Subjects and Method: Design: a descriptive study Setting: The study was carried out in seven governmental maternal and child centers in port said city. Subjects: A purposive sample of 200 women aged between 20 to 35 years at Port Said city from the first April 2020 to the end of November 2020. Tools: three tools were used for data collection using a structured interview schedule and a health practice scale. Results: demonstrated that the majority of the samples had lower levels of general health, medication use, and psychiatric domains. Additionally, more than two-fifths had median a degree of nutrition habit. It also revealed that half of the studied sample had a satisfactory level of knowledge, while the remaining samples had an inadequate level of knowledge and positive attitude regarding health behaviors. Conclusion: Research concluded that more than three-quarters of the sample examined had low levels of health behaviors. |
