Abstract There is a complex relationship between heritage and tourism; tourism is dynamic and evolves over time and heritage is inheritance from a generation to another generation. In the developing process of heritage tourism, there is a trend of representation of the original heritage tourism destinations and historical landmarks to display in new destinations. Representation and historical authenticity are considered to be important components of heritage tourism development. The study proposes a model to discuss the representation of heritage tourism destinations. This study focuses on the architects/experts’ and tourists perceptions on how the heritage destinations and landmarks are displayed when they are represented in a foreign destination. The study focuses on ancient Egypt as a source of origin of architectural heritage and the representations of heritage in foreign destinations around the world |
