Abstract The present study aimed at investigating the effect of a hybrid learning-based program on developing students’ reading and writing skills and their attitudes towards EFL learning. The study participants were sixty students from the second-year preparatory school chosen randomly from two classes at Nour El-Islam model institute for girls located in Damietta governorate, Alazhar Al-Sharif. They were divided into two groups: an experimental group (N=30) and a control one (N=30). The researcher prepared a checklist of reading and writing skills required for identifying the appropriate reading and writing skills needed for second-year preparatory stage students. A pre-post reading and writing test was administered to the two groups to measure their performance before and after implementing the program. Moreover, a pre-post attitude scale was applied to the participants before and after the treatment. The hybrid learning-based program was implemented to the experimental group for twelve weeks while the control group received regular instruction. The results of the study indicated significant differences between the mean scores of the experimental group and those of the control group on the post-reading and writing test and in the post-administration of the attitude scale towards EFL learning in favor of the experimental group. The results asserted that using a hybrid learning-based program via platforms helped learners improve the quality of their reading and writing skills and develop their. |
