Abstract The development of communication technologies and the pervasive internet use of social media have significantly improved data transfer. A considerable amount of sensitive information needs to be protected when being transmitted online due to the prevalence of digital multimedia transmissions. The supplied data must therefore be hidden as a result. One of the most important ways of data hiding is steganography. Steganography is the process of hiding data in carriers like images, audio files, text files, and video files. (LSB) is one of the most important considerations when one wants to solve such problems. In this thesis, a framework for protecting enormous amounts of data is created using the steganography approach. By using Modified Least Significant Bit (MLSB) steganography to hide data in a cover image, this technique offers security. The main objective of this work is to improve and propose a new technique for data security through spatial domain steganography (MLSB) algorithms. The proposed techniques in this work were performed on different message sizes varied between (1 to 256) bytes. These messages were hidden in some color (RGB) cover images. The data is randomly inserted in the last 3- bits of the colorful cover image’s red, green, and blue planes. Various quantities of sensitive information are hidden in cover images that are shown in a colorful image format. A variety of performance indicators, including Peak Signal Noise Ratio (PSNR), and Mean Square Error (MSE) were used to evaluate the suggested technique, which was created in MATLAB. |
