Abstract The current study was aimed to reveal the differentiation of the rabbit lung during development. Also, to throw more light on studying the gene expression of Fibroblast Growth Factor 10 (FGF10), Surfactant protein B (SPB), and Forkhead Box M1 (Foxm1) that regulated histogenesis of rabbit’s fetus’s lungs from the 20th- 29th days prenatally. This work was carried out on 68 embryos and fetuses of white New Zealand rabbit of both sexes in different gestational ages. The specimens were taken from apparently healthy adult pregnant does. Their age ranged from 2-3 years old, and 2.5-5 kg, weight. The does were collected from the farms of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University as well as from some special farms in Benha city. During the conduct of practical experiments, the protocol of the Institutional Committee for Animal Welfare was strictly applied in this work (approval number, ZU-IACUC/2/F/87/2022). Attention has been considered to relieve the animal pain during handling it as humanely as possible. The pregnant does were generally anaesthetized during collection of the embryos or fetuses. |
