Abstract This paper aims to discuss the issue of time (temporal expressions and tenses) in teaching spanish as a foreign language in an Egyptian environment. The study provides a theoretical introduction to the concepts of time and the different approaches that have been treated. Given the importance of this issue, this study intends explore this aspect evaluating what are the challenges that face the Egyptian students while learning Spanish as a foreign language and also aims presenting a didactic proposal adopting a methodology is that follows a cognitive methodolgy and therefore evaluate its results. This cognitive perspective is adopted because as it presents a series of educational benefits that make from the process of learning a second language more natural and useful one. Also it based on the assumption of the universal character of cognitive abilities which is favorable to apply so students can acquire the second language accrediting the most pragmatic way, according to an appeoach more focused on the action |
