Abstract
This research was conducted on seven sites that differ on the sources of pollution in order to assess the degree of pollution with heavy metals and their effect on the enzymatic activity of the soil and on the physical and chemical properties of these soils. Soil samples were collected in order to achieve the purpose of the study. The samples were divided as follows:
A- Unpolluted samples from virgin soil (S1) taken from an island in the Nile River located between Kafr El-Sheikh and El-Beheira governorates during the winter dam period
B- The rest of the polluted samples were collected from different polluted irrigation sources in terms of the source of pollution from Kafr El-Sheikh Governorate .
