Abstract The present experimental work was carried out at the Poultry Research Laboratory belonging to Animal and Fish Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture (Saba Basha), Alexandria University. This study was undertaken during the period from July to August 2018. This study was investigated the effects of different levels of milk thistle plant seed powder or ascorbic acid on the productive performance, carcass characteristics, hematological indices, serum biochemistry of growing Japanese quail. And possibility of improving the immunity of growing Japanese quail. A total number of 150 14-days old unsexed growing Japanese quail chicks were used. Quail were weighed individually, randomly distributed into five experimental groups, each group contained 30 chicks; each one was subdivided into three replicates with 10 chicks in a complete randomized design. Quail were housed in wire growing cages, of an open house system throughout the experimental period which started at 2 weeks of age till 6 weeks of age. |
