Abstract Keywords: Citric acid, EDTA, Peracetic acid, Phytic Acid, SEM, Smear Layer. Introduction: There are many ways to remove the smear layer which adheres to dentinal tubules and limits the penetration of irrigant solutions and root canal fillings, one of them is chemicaly used chelating agents. The aim: to assess the ability of 17% ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid (EDTA),10% citric acid, 2.25% peracetic acid (PAA) and 1% phytic acid in removing smear layer from root canal system of human teeth using scanning electron microscopic analysis (SEM). |
