Abstract In the framework of Glauber theory of nucleus-nucleus scattering, the 2 exchange three-nucleon force has been insertion into two approximations, the first is the optical limit approximation and the second is the multiple scattering theory of Glauber. The effect of the three-nucleon force on deuteron-deuteron elastic scattering differential cross section studied at momenta 1.75, 2.12, 2.2 and 7.9 GeV/c of incident deuteron and center of mass energies 53 and 63 GeV. We used in the study two wave functions for deuteron and taking D-state into account in one of them (chapter II). The results of our calculations are compared with the experimental data and with the previous results. We obtained, in general, a good agreement with the experimental data especially by using multiple scattering theory of Glauber. We found that, when we take the D-state into account the results improve at the minimum region of the elastic scattering differential cross section which is known in the previous works. But, the D-state effect is not enough to obtain an agreement with the experimental data. Therefore, a good agreement with the experimental data is related to the effect of the three-nucleon force that observed for q^2>0.2(GeV/c)^2 due to relatively small radius of it. |
