Abstract A novel Schiff base ligand of (E)-3-(phenylimino)indolin-2-one (L; primary ligand) and its binary and mixed ligand complexes (1,10-phenanthroline and TMEDA as secondary ligands) with Cr(III), Mn(II), Fe(III), Co(II), Ni(II), Cu(II), Zn(II) and Cd(II) ions were prepared and subjected to many analytical techniques such as elemental analyses, mass spectroscopy, IR, 1H NMR, solid reflectance spectra, magnetic moment, molar conductance, SEM, thermal analyses techniques (TG and DTG) to throw more light on the nature of changes accompanying the thermal decomposition process of these complexes. The biological activity (antimicrobial and antibreastic cancer activity) of the Schiff base ligand and its binary and ternery complexes were also screened |
