Abstract Results of the current study could be summarized as follows: There was no significant statistical difference between patients and controls regarding their age, sex and body mass index (P value > 0.05). Most of patients had gradual onset and progressive course 86.7% and 56.7% respectively, mean disease duration was 2.63 years ranged from 3 months to five years. Positive family history present in 71.7% of patients, 8.3% of patients was smokers. Regarding site of acne it was more in face 53.3%.Acne was related to stress in 90% of patients). Diet history questionnaire revealed that there was significant difference between cases and controls regarding frequency of eating chocolate, macaroni, potato chips, fried food , fats , drinking cola and eating pickles (P value <0.05). Mean Global Acne Grading Scale was 37.7 ranged from7 to 71. Majority of patients had very severe form 40%, 31.7% were severe, 20% were moderate and 8.3% were mild. Adiponectin level was higher in cases than controls10.4±6.16 vs 7.98±6.67 (P value 0.001). The level of leptin was lower in cases than controls 17.5±18.4 vs18.3±14.7 (P value 0.002). No significant statistical correlation between adiponectin concentration (ng/dl) and age, disease duration and GAGS score among the studied patients (P value >0.05). Summary 89 No significant statistical correlation between Leptin concentration and age, disease duration and GAGS score among the studied patients (P value >0.05). No significant relation between Adiponectin concentration(ng/dl) and clinical data of the studied patients (P value > 0.05). No significant relation between leptin concentration(ng/dl) and clinical data of the studied patients (P value > 0.05) except for family history, leptin was significantly lower in patients with positive family history (P value < 0.05). |
