Abstract One of the most significant branches dealing with forensic science in which insects play a major role during investigation in medicocriminal cases is forensic entomology (Byrd & Castner, 2001). Medicocriminal entomology dates back to 13th century when Sung Tz‘u, a local criminalist, he also recorded the infestation of maggots in different seasons, besides other arthropods in recognising the antemortem wounds of the corpse. In France, the first published data about insect succession in forensic entomology was represented by Bergeret (1855), also Megnin published his famous capstone work, La Fauna des Cadavres, served in focusing western attention that entomological data was usefulness in forensic science (Mégnin, 1894; Krinsky, 2019). |
