Abstract Two field experiments were conducted at the Experimental Farm of Faculty of Agriculture (Saba Basha) Alexandria University, Egypt, during the summer seasons of 2017 and 2018 to study to study response of the sorghum productivity to different mineral NPK, Nano NPK and weed control methods and their interaction. The proceeding crop was clover in both seasons. Soil samples of the experimental sites were taken at the depth of (0-30 cm).5.1. Studied characters:5.1.1. Growth characters: 1. Plant height at harvest (cm).2. Dry matter accumulation (g/m2).3. Leaf area index (LAI).4. Total leaf chlorophyll content. Crop growth rate (CGR) (g/m2/week).5.1.2. Yield and yield components:1. 1000-grain weight (g).2. Grain yield (t/Fed.).3. Straw yield (t/Fed.).4. Biological yield (ton/fed.).>5. Harvest index % (HI).5.1.3. Grain characters:1. Grain protein content.2. Phosphorus content (P ppm).3. Potassium content (K ppm).5.1.4. Weeds characters. The results can be summarized as following5.1. Growth characters: The results showed that plant height at harvest (cm):chlorophyll content (SPAD): leaf area index (LAI):and crop growth rate at the two growth periods (45- 60 and 60-75 DAS) of sorghum were significantly affected by weed control methods, mineral, Nano fertilization and their interaction during 2017 and 2018 seasons. Regarding the effect of weed control methods, the results indicated that the highest mean values of plant height at harvest (cm): chlorophyll content (SPAD):leaf area index (LAI): and crop growth rate at the two growth periods (45-60 and 60-75 DAS) were recorded with one hand hoeing + herbicide followed by using herbicides as compared with the other methods of controlling of weeds, while Hearty method gave the lowest ones in the two seasons. With regard to the effect of fertilization, the results showed that 50 % mineral NPK fertilizer +50% NPK fertilizer NPs recorded the highest mean values of plant height at harvest (cm): chlorophyll content (SPAD): leaf area index (LAI): and crop growth rate at the two growth periods (45-60 and 60-75 DAS) followed by NPK nonfertilizer (NPs):meanwhile the lowest ones recorded with one hand hoeing + NPK mineral fertilizer in both seasons. An increase of this trait of sorghum may be due to role of mineral + Nano- fertilizers for increasing yield and its component of sorghum. Belong to the interaction effect, the results cleared that hand hoeing one time with herbicide or using herbicide only + 50 % Mineral NPK fertilizer +50% NPK fertilizer NPs recorded the highest mean values of plant height at harvest (cm):chlorophyll content (SPAD): leaf area index (LAI): and crop growth rate at the two growth periods (45-60 and 60-75 DAS) followed by (hand hoeing one time with herbicide + 100%NPK nonfertilizer NPs):meanwhile the lowest ones recorded with one hand hoeing + NPK mineral fertilizer in both seasons. |
