Abstract This work is concerned with the quantitative determination of some drugs containing amine group such as lomefloxacin hydrochloride as a single drug, paracetamol, orphenadrine citrate and caffeine in their co-formulated mixture, chlorpheniramine maleate, phenylephrine with guaiafenesin as a co-formulated drug. Different analytical techniques were adopted, namely, Spectrophotometric, spectrofluorometric, chemometric, chromatographic, liquid chromatography coupled with mass detection and electrochemical methods for the determination of the previously mentioned compounds in their pure form, laboratory prepared mixtures, different dosage forms and different biological fluids. Different experimental conditions were studied till reaching the optimum conditions. In part I: General introduction about amines and amine containing compounds were summarized. In part II: LOM was determined by potentiometric method without prior separation from its formulation matrix both in tablets and eye drops, and in plasma. Also; the fabricated sensor was used for in-line potentiometric monitoring of LOM dissolution from its tablets. Furthermore, a green cost-effective two methods were developed and validated to determine the excretion pattern of LOM in human urine without any sample preparation steps namely potentiometry using ISEs and spectrofluorometric methods. In part III: Different chromatographic and spectrophotometric methods were described to determine PAR, Or.cit and CAF in presence of PAR possible degradation product and impurity ”PAP”. In part IV: Two different separation techniques; TLC-densitometry and RP-HPLC were described for the simultaneous determination of CM, PE, GF along with NaB preservative in presence of GL related substance |
