Abstract This thesis is talking about the European Union and its relation with china, assessing the performance and the functioning of the union as a global actor and the member states as well after 2008 economic crisis.Given the importance of the union, many countries are aiming to join the union and to attain its privileges. However certain factors appear on the way and seem to threaten that union; On one hand the economic crisis has implication over the EU and the EU member states causing diversity within the European Union as a political institution, on the other hand, the rise of the China and the decline of the EU. China and Europe have established a comprehensive strategic partnership. China is committed to supporting those affected by the debt crisis in European countries This topic is relevant now and will become even more relevant in the future, in line with what scholars of international relations refer to as the Rise of China, whereas china has already became the second economy in the world. Thus it is essential to identify the underlying causes and trends that have emerged due to the economic crisis and its impact on the union |
