Abstract The school based health education programs are considered to be the most effective method for prevention of oral diseases, as has been proven from the developed countries of world. Schools are considered to be a suitable place for imparting knowledge to the school children, and consequently school children can act as health change agents in the whole community. Different oral health programs with different educational methods are readily available, this study aimed to assess and compare the effectiveness of two oral health education programs using the visual aids to another program using the audiovisual aids in modifying knowledge, attitude, practice (KAP), and oral hygiene status (caries experience) among a group of school children whose ages ranged from seven to nine years. It also aimed to motivate the school teachers and increase their oral health awareness in order to create a healthy environment. Seven primary school teachers were motivated by a mean of Oral Health Education workshop with assessment of their KAP before and after the workshop at summer before the school entry |
