Abstract Reconstruction of papillary recession especially at the esthetic zone is one of the most difficult and challenging periodontal treatments. There is a need for a minimally invasive treatment modality for the reconstruction of deficient interdental papillae. Therefore, the aim of the present randomized, placebo-controlled, paralleled-grouped clinical trial was to assess the patients’ satisfaction after the injection of hyaluronic acid gel for the reconstruction of deficient interdental papilla compared to saline solution as a placebo. The secondary outcomes included the change in surface area and height of the black triangle, clinical periodontal parameters as probing depth, plaque index and gingival index at the deficient papilla site and pain level 4 hours after injection. Eight patients with 30 deficient interdental papillae in the inter-bicuspid region were randomly allocated to receive whether hyaluronic acid gel (test group) or saline solution (control group) injections |
