Abstract Background: Pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) is a problematic cause of chronic pelvic pain in women. PCS is thought to result from retrograde flow in an incompetent ovarian vein. Patients describe a variety of symptoms including pelvic pain, dyspareunia, bladder irritability and vulva, buttock and lower limb varicosities and is characteristically seen in multiparous women. (Ball E. et al., 2012). Methods: 30 patients complaining of pelvic congestion syndrome (PCS) underwent CT venography of the abdomen and pelvis. The examination was done at different times along the menstrual cycle with preparation regarding contrast media administration. Results: The patients who were suspected to have pelvic congestion syndrome met the criteria of diagnosis with variable degrees of congestion. The diameter of the ovarian vein is significantly related to the diagnosis of the pelvic congestion syndrome together with the presence of pelvic varices |
