Abstract Two field experiments were carried out in two different sites at a private farm in Kafr El-Dawar, El-Beheira, Egypt during the summer growing season of 2019/2020 to investigate the effect of organic fertilizers sources on growth, yield and tuber quality of three potato under sandy soil condition. The field experiment was laid out in a split-plot design with three replications. Potato cultivars were arranged as a main factor and fertilizer treatments as a subfactor. The treated potato cultivars were Cara, Elbeida and Sponta. While, the applied fertilizers treatments were as follow: T1 MOF (7 kg/plot) + VC (7 kg/plot) + AZ (2.6 l/plot) T2 VC (7 kg/plot) T3 MOF (7 kg/plot) + AZ (2.6 l/plot) T4 VC (7 kg/plot) + AZ (2.6 l/plot) T5 VC (7 kg/plot) +MOF (7 kg/plot) T6 MOF (7 kg/plot) T7 Recommended doses of NPK chemical fertilizers (Control) Potato tubers were sown on 5th of December-2019 at 40 cm distance. Organic Farming System was followed in all plots during the whole growing sites. All the plots were well irrigated during the whole sites through a drip-irrigation system. Weeds were controlled by hand-howling every 10 days after sowing. Tuber yield of potato was harvested for Elbeida cultivar on 5th of April, Sponta cultivar on 25th of April and for Cara cultivar on 15th of May 2020. The main objective of this study was to investigate the effect of differernt organic manure combinations on growth, yield and quality of some potato cultivars and their interaction under El-Beheira conditions. |
