Abstract

The present study was carried out at the private Farm at El- Nubaria , El- Behira , Egypt , during the summer seasons of 2017 and 2017 to study the response of maize to soil amendments and mineral NPK + bio – fertilizers NPK .
Split plot design with three replications was used , where the main plots occupied by soil amendments ( soil application of sulphur (s) at the rate of 100kg/fed , Humic acid (HA) with irrigation water (3 Kg / fed ) and soil application of Fluvic acid ( 2 kg/fed ) and soil application of compost at the rate of 5 t/fed) , meanwhile the sub plots contained mineral NPK fertilizers with Biofertilizer (100% mineral NPK , 75 % mineral NPK + bio – fertilizers , and bio – fertilizers of NPK ) in both seasons .

The main results were summarized as follows :
5.1. Growth characters :
- Compost recorded the highest values LAI ., total chlorophy11 ( SPAD) , and dry matter accumulation at sampling dates 45 . 60 and 75 days after sowing ( DAS) .while , the lowest values of LAI recorded under application of sulfur (S) during both seasons .
- The highest mean values of leaf area index (LAI) total chlorophyll 11
(SPAD ) , and dry matter accumulation at sampling dates 45 . 60 and 75 days after sowing ( DAS) were obtained with 75 % mineral NPK + biofertilizer in 2017 and 2018 seasons .While , the lowest values of LAI recorded under the grain inoculation by bio – fertilizer during both seasons .
- Compost 75 % mineral NPK + biofertilizer gave the highest LAI ., total chlorophy11 ( SPAD) , and dry matter accumulation at sampling dates 45 . 60 and 75 days after sowing ( DAS) , meanwhile the lowest ones recorded by sulphur + bio – fertilizer in both seasons .
5.2. Yield and its components :
- Compost recorded the highest values of plant height at harvest . Application of compost recorded the longest plants height but it had no significant difference among the others recorded the longest plants height but it had no significant difference among the others soil
