Abstract

This work was carried out to examine the possibility of Eichhornia to affect the
celleular damage by using different or several measurements , such as mitotic activity, meotic activity and histology of liver and kidney. The obtained results clearly and precisely
showed that Eichhornia sap was proven to enhance celleular activity and did not affect liver as well as kidney cells, giving a strong evidence that Eichhornia sap is useful for human usage.
Cyclophosphamide ( the generic name for Endoxan , Cytoxan ) is an alkylating agent . It used to treat a variety of different cancers ( breast cancer , ovarian cancer , and certain
types of leukemia ) . Its side effects are carcinogeneic , Teratogenic and Infertility .
However cyclophosphamide was used as a positive control as it mainly in used in
genetic toxology experiment.
The possibility of use of water hyacinth for used. The appearance of secondary
metabolite components for medicinal and curative purposes as anticancer, antimicrobials, antioxidants, anti-dandruff, antiproliferative actions and provides a possibility source for
animals feed because of the high rates of carbohydrate, raw proteins, and raw fibres.
This study will be conducted to determine if E.Crassipes leaves extract have a protective effect on genotoxicity induced by cyclophosphamide in mice .
In conclusion, aims at disclosing the capability of Eichhornia to reduce genetic and celleular damages induced by positive control were discussed and finally to answer the question:
If this plant can be used for human usage or not??
The results of Eichhornia sap showed that this plant can be used in human usage To conclude, water hyacinth instead of being regarded as an invasive noxious weed it could be regarded as a source and starting material for many beneficial uses.
Weed biomass can be used for bioremediation and bioadsorption of different pollutants, as well as biogas and biofuel processing, composting and animal and fish feed. Thus, large-scale
use of this noxious weed for weed control can be an appealing and productive approach that can replace the relatively unsuccessful traditional weed management methods.
57 from this study we can conclude that:
• The present stud investigate the effect of Eichhornia upon mice (Mus musculus 2n=40).
• The tested plant has the ability to reduce chromosomal aberrations in mice bone marrow induced by cyclophosphamide under our experimental conditions.
• The tested plant showed ability in reducing Micro-nucleus in mice.
• On Hematology level the plant has effects: On liver functions increases he enzymes as well as enzymes of kidney functions and shows a significant increase.
• On Histological level the high doses shows a hyperplasia cells in liver sections compared to control and low doses group showed a normal kupffer cells but on positive control showed necrosis.
• The plant tested shows normal sperms on germinal line test.
• Eichhornia leaves extract had protective effect on genotoxicity induced by cyclophosphamide in Mice.
