Abstract

ABSTRACT
Green synthesis of nanoparticles is emerging approach of insect control as it is easily extractable and an ecofriendly. Therefor the aim of this study is to evaluate the efficacy of green synthesized silver nanoparticles and chitosan nanoparticles using Nerium oleander leaves and Aloe vera gel methanolic extracts against Musca domestica. The phytochemical components of the Nerium oleander leaf and Aloe vera gel methanol extracts were identified by Gas chromatography Mass Spectrometry analysis. Synthesized nanoparticles were characterized by UV–vis spectrum, TEM, FTIR and XRD. Insecticidal and biological effects of what were assessed against early 3rd larval instar. Totally 17 components were identified in N. olender crude extract and12 components were extracted in A. vera gel. ( Results also revealed that, UV–vis spectrum, TEM, FTIR and XRD confirmed the successful synthesis of nanoparticles. The relative potency of N. oleander CsNPs was nearly 188 times more potent than N. oleander crude extract whereas, N. oleander AgNPs was nearly 78 times more potent than N. oleander crude extract, while The relative potency of A. vera CsNPs was nearly 149 times more potent than A. vera crude extract whereas, A. vera AgNPs was nearly 40 times more potent than A. vera crude extract.) Furthermore, a prolongation of larval duration, reduction in the percentage of pupation and adult emergence were observed. Also morphological abnormalities have appeared in different life stages. The biochemical effects of tested compounds showed alterations in all antioxidant enzymes under investigations. Overall, green-synthesized AgNPs and CsNPs encapsulated plant extracts have a potential of application as a biopesticide for house fly control through a safer and eco-friendly approach.
