Abstract The present study was carried out on a total number of 11485 animals of different species, breeds and age, admitted to the Al khawaneej veterinary clinic, veterinary therapeutic unit, Dubai municipality, Government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates and the clinic of Surgery Department, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Zagazig University, Egypt during the period from January 2017 to July 2021. The major goal of the present study is to: 1) Study the most prevalent surgical teat affections and abnormalities in farm animals during the before mentioned period, 2) Entail the different treatment trials of some teat affections and its follow up and 3) Prospect anatomical descriptional study of the normal teat by ultrasonography and set up the possibility of its use in the diagnosis and evaluation of various teat affections. All animals were examined clinically for the detection of congenital and acquired teat abnormalities, and other affections were excluded. In addition, 25 clinically healthy lactating cows, 15 clinically healthy lactating she-camels, and 42 clinically healthy goats (21 non-lactating and 21 lactating) were used for ultrasonography of the normal teats. |
