Abstract Background:osteopathy is a manual therapy which followsthe principle that structure and function are closely integrated by assessing a person{u2019}s musculoskeletal, neurological and visceral system. The aim of this study was to determine theeffect of osteopathic visceral manipulations on low back pain due to visceral dysfunction. Forty female patients with age ranged from 25-40 years old suffering from low back pain due to visceral dysfunction participated in this study. They were recruited from physiotherapy clinic and referred from orthopedist.They were assigned into two groups equal in number;Study group:includedtwenty patients who received osteopathic manipulative techniques, one session per week for three weeks;There was a significant decrease in Visual analogue scale by (84.41%) and Oswestry Low Back Disability Questionnairedecreased by (75%) and significant increase in Modified schober{u2019}s test of the study group by (8.66%) compared with that of the control group post treatment (p > 0.001).Control group:included twenty patients who received analgesic drugs only. Results:There was a significant decrease in Visual analogue scale by (23.52%) and Oswestry Low Back Disability Questionnairedecreased by (11.67%) and significant increase in Modified schober{u2019}s test of the study group by (2.66%) compared with that of the control group post treatment (p > 0.001) |
