Abstract Background: Epithelial ovarian tumors (EOTs) are subdivided into benign, borderline (intermediate)and malignant (carcinoma). A variety of agents; hereditary, reproductive, hormonal, in{uFB02}ammatory, dietary, surgical and geographic factors have been implicated, but not yet proven to play a role in in{uFB02}uencing ovarian cancer (OC)risk. The increased expression and activity of estrogen receptor alfa (ER-Ü) was associated with a less favorable clinical outcome of OC, while increased expression of progesterone receptor (PR) was associated with improved survival. Expression of Her2/neu in OC is associated with advanced stage, higher recurrence frequency, shorter survival time and lower sensitivity to platinum-based chemotherapy. Aim of the work:Detection of immunohistochemical expression of ER, PR and Her2/neu in cases of EOTsand to correlate the expression with different demographic, clinical and pathological parameters. Material and methods:Sixty cases of EOTs were stained by ERÜ, PR and Her2/neu and clinical details were collected from the case records. Statistical analysis was done by Chi square test using Statistical Package for Social Sciences (SPSS) software (Version 21). Results:The level of ER/PR expression in borderline ovarian tumors (BOTs)was significantly higher in serous than borderline Brenner tumors.
