Abstract The present study aimed to investigate the effect of a proposed enriching program based on the theory of social constructivism in developing preparatory pupils{u2019} EFL speaking skills and self-esteem. To fulfill its purpose, the study utilized a quasi-experimental method.The participants of the study were intact classes of second year preparatory pupils who were randomly assigned into two groups, experimental (N=30) and control. (N=30). To collect the needed data, the researcher designed an EFL speaking skills checklist, an EFL speaking skills test, and a self-esteem scale related to EFL speaking skills.The results of the study revealed the effectiveness of the proposed enriching program based on the theory of social constructivism in developing preparatory pupils{u2019} EFL speaking skills and self-esteem. The enrichment program that was designed according to the interactive model of social constructivism helped learners improve their EFL speaking skills and raising their self-esteem related to EFL speaking skills.The study highly recommended that FL teachers put their trust in the power of the social constructivism in learning |
