Abstract

Cardiovascular diseases (CVDs), consisting of ischemic heart disease, stroke, heart failure, peripheral arterial disease, and a number of other cardiac and vascular conditions, constitute the leading cause of global mortality and are a major contributor to reduced quality of life in 2017, CVD caused an estimated 17.8 million deaths worldwide, corresponding to 330 million years of life lost and another 35.6 million years. On the other hand, methionine has an increasing effect on HDLcholesterol, physical inactivity, tobacco use and harmful use of alcohol the effects of behavioral risk factors are: hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, overweight and obesity. The process of homocysteine re-methylation requires an adequate supply of folic acid, vitamin B12 and vitamin B6. The aim of this study was to reduce the level of homocysteine Hcy) by high methionine dietary supplementation of folic acid and to evaluate changes in lipid parameters in blood serum of experimental rats.
Sixty adult male of white albino rats Sprague Dawley strain, weighing between (130 ±10 g) were used in this experiment. All rats were fed on basal diet for 7 consecutive days. After this adaptation period, rats are divided into 10 group, each group which consists of seven rats are as follows: The rats are divided into two main groups as follow:
 The first main group: (control negative group): consisting of 6 rats were fed on the base diet.
 The second main group: (54) rats divided into 9 fed on basal diet and methionine.
1. The first subgroup: fed on basal diet plus 32g methionine plus 122 g of milk
