Abstract Fowl adenoviruses have been getting into focus during the last decade more frequently owing to the increasing awareness of their spread and ability of inducing various pathological problems that result in significant economic losses. Among these syndromes, inclusion body hepatitis, Hydropericardium Hepatitis syndrome and gizzard erosion which affecting primarily young broiler chicks. Also, FAdVs are incriminated in immunosuppression, making birds more susceptible to other pathogens and vaccination failure. Inclusion body hepatitis as mainly associated with species D and species E. Until now, there are no commercial vaccines available against FAdVs in Egypt. This study was performed to investigate FAdVs infection among fifty broiler flocks with ages between 18-35 days at different localities in Egypt during 2017-2020. Liver samples were collected from broilers suspected to be infected with the disease. Clinical investigation of examined chickens showed anemia, depression, diarrhea with mortalities 5-15%. Postmortem examination of freshly dead and/or sacrificed broilers were revealed lesions mainly in liver which revealed paleness with hemorrhages. |
