Abstract The study in this thesis deals with determining different cases of possible regular and semi-regular precessions for an asymmetric magnetized rigid gyrostatic satellite moving in circular orbit under the action of Newtonian and magnetic fields. Lagrange’s equations are used to describe the satellite motion when the axis of precession is perpendicular to the orbital plane. The necessary conditions for the existence of various regular precessions, semi-regular precessions, and permanent rotations are obtained. solutions for the regular precessional motion which represents many possible regular precessions of an asymmetric satellite with their necessary conditions are obtained and a study on two types of semi-regular precessions of the satellite with an example for each type the solutions in the two examples are obtained in form of elliptic functions. |
