Abstract

The title of this study ”Assessment of Precious Metals in Black Sand in the Northern Coastal Region of Egypt”. This study consists of Four Chapters. The first chapter includes an introduction to explain the source of minerals deposits from El-Sallum on the western border to Rafah on the eastern border. Also explain the result of survey during period2003-3004 which was done by Egyptian Nuclear Materials Authority to choose Kafr El-Sheikh governorate as the best area to establish Black Sand Company (EBSC) to extract minerals and benefited from them at many industries and estimate these minerals if have precious metals beside the economic metals.
The aim of the present work involved identifies and quantifies some of economic and precious metals for black sand which associated with the sand dunes saturated on the coastal area of Kafr El-Sheikh governorate.
The second chapter includes literature survey on the black sand along the Mediterranean Sea of Egypt and the distribution of some heavy metals and geochemical parameters. Some literature survey of the similar work around the world and in other different places was also reported.
The experimental part is given in the third chapter. The methods of sand analysis were described for sorting of sand, and some heavy metals (Cr, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, Cd ,Ti, Zr, Zn, Sr, Sc, Hf, Ag, As, Mn, V, Au, Sn, Th, U Mo and platinum group element) are analyzed by inductive.
