Abstract The present theoretical study aims to study and develop the use of the solar chimney power plant as a hopeful scheme for power generation. Studying the different operational and design parameters presented to define the optimal condition and design. Also present suggestions for collector design helping in increasing the air radial velocity and consequently increasing the power output, this design is a corrugated collector surface. The following theoretical study held in the faculty of engineering Tanta University, Egypt by a commercial CFD simulation Package. Organization of the thesis The thesis contains chapters where the content and description of each chapter is given below briefly: Chapter 1 This chapter presents the introduction and studding for types of renewable energy sources. Chapter 2 In this chapter, literature review of different solar chimneys technologies and components is display, objectives of the study and the aim of this work that seeks to the optimal solar chimney design.Chapter 3 This chapter is contained two main parts. The first part describes the numerical model. While the second part is describing the mathematical model equations. Chapter 4 In this chapter, the meshing and its properties is presented for all designs. Chapter 5 This chapter presented the results for the study and its analysis. Chapter 6 This chapter presents the draw conclusions and suggestions of coming work. |
