Abstract

Acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) is an aggressive neoplasm of lymphoid progenitor cells. It is the most common type of childhood malignancy.
Specific markers have been identified as having significant diagnostic and prognostic value and are currently used to tailor the therapeutic strategies.
The tetraspanin CD82, an adhesion molecule, performs an important role in the interaction between leukemia stem cells (LSCs) and their niche. CD82 was identified as a potential regulator of HSPC adhesion and migration.
The present study was conducted on thirty-five children with newly diagnosed and relapsed ALL patients and fifteen age and sex match healthy control group free of any cancer type to assess CD8 2 expression in patients with pediatric ALL.
All patients were subjected to full history, clinical examination, laboratory investigations including; CBC, examination of Leishman-stained smears, IPT on BM/PB samples by flow cytometry using routine panel of monoclonal antibodies for ALL cell malignancies then using CD82 antibodies.
Summary and Conclusion
CD82 expression showed highest statistical difference among ALL group than control group.
