Abstract
This study provides researchers with data that can be used as a basis for establishing a genotype database for the Arabian dromedaries based on the recommended panel of microsatellite markers by ISAG to be used in parentage verification of dromedary camels. Furthermore, to our knowledge, this is the first report examining the genetic indices associated with LCA99 and LGU49 among dromedary camels. This parentage verification test will be a useful tool for camel breeders to improve the accuracy of selection, rapid genetic gain and limited inbreeding in their herds.
