Abstract
Local media plays an important role in articulating the interests and needs of the community and promoting awareness among citizens of the issues affecting society.,It also seeks to promote environmental awareness and sensitivity on the part of every recipient of,the environmental media mission.,Media interest in environmental issues is relatively new, having grown after discovering the destructive effects of the environment. Hence the importance of intensifying research efforts to determine the reality of the role played by the local media and its effects on the public especially as members of the public increasingly rely on the media as the main source of updates on events and issues raised.,Study problem:
Given the importance and role of local media in development, the role of local media and the challenges and difficulties facing them, The researcher found that the local media needs to be developed and developed as it faces many challenges and obstacles that hinder it from fulfilling the role assigned to it towards development.. The identification of these challenges therefore puts development plans in the hands of local media and how to address them, allowing those working in the local media and the press to tackle environmental challenges to help resolve them. The researcher therefore formulated the problem of the study as follows:”A program for preparation and reorientation the media to raise the right environmental awareness in Alexandria.
