Abstract

Organizations regularly face situations which require decisions to be taken, whether at a tactical or strategic level. Those decisions which guide an organization towards a desired future state whether that is to gain or maintain a competitive position or secure a turnaround are of considerable importance to an organization and are highly complex.
The nature of airline operations does not lend itself to fast incremental response. The industry of civil aviation as a whole faces the same problem of lack of affective incremental response in the light of serious external factors such as the immediate aftermath of the September 11th tragedy or from a historical perspective the major increase in fuel prices in 2007/2008.
Since the ability to provide quality products and services is increasingly becoming a key determinant of an airlines business success. The quality of any organizational products and services is determined by the core business or operational processes that create them therefore the research problem is:
If the chain of process of strategic decision making is made efficient then the resulting products and services will also be efficient leading to the success of the business
The top management team would have to answer strategic and tactical questions about the current business model and its ability to cope with the potential internal and external threats
A firm’s productivity which is the ratio of outputs to inputs can be improved by reducing inputs, increasing outputs or both.
The descriptive analysis of the aviation industry performance in 2015, 2016 and 2017 indicates that the industry is growing and at the same time the labor productivity is improving while unite labor cost is reducing or under a controlled growth.
