Abstract
The present thesis comprises seven chapters. The first one includes an introduction showing the importance and aim of the research. The second chapter contains a review of the literatures that include two parts: the harmful effect of gentamicin on kidneys and the protective effect of coenzyme Q10 against renal failure through its anti-oxidant properties. The third chapter deals with the materials and methods used to complete the study using a number of mice was divided into 5 equal groups (7 animals/group) to study the protective and therapeutic effects of coenzyme Q10 against renal failure that induced by gentamicin. The fourth chapter contains the obtained results indicated that gentamicin pre or post treatment with coenzyme Q10 showed an improvement in biochemical, histological, histochemical and immunohistochemical pictures. The fifth chapter contains a discussion of the obtained results and comparing it with the previous literatures. The sixth chapter contains summary and conclusion. The last chapter contains two hundred forty seven references including a number of international and local scientific references previously addressed this study in other animals and humans.
