Abstract NAFLD is a growing problem likely to worsen worldwide with the epidemic of obesity. As the vast majority of patients with T2D are obese, they are particularly susceptible to develop NAFLD (Liu et al., 2017). Poor knowledge of the mechanism of NAFLD in T2D and diagnostic and treatment options for its management represents a major obstacle for early intervention and prevention of long-term hepatic and extrahepatic complications associated with the disease, including cardiovascular disease that is the leading cause of mortality in patients with NAFLD (Cusi, 2018). Several experimental models in different studies have reported the protective effects of RA on liver injury (Elufioye and Habtemariam, 2019). Also, exercise is supposed to have a great impact on protection against liver damage (Younan et al., 2019). |
