Abstract
Blount’s disease is classified as infantile as the onset occurs before 5 years of age, more often seen in female, black and obese children and in children who start to walk earlier than usual. The tibio-femoral angle is measured on standing anteroposterior radiograph: A line is drawn through the middle of the femoral shaft and another line through the middle of tibial shaft. The angle subtended at the point at which these two lines met in the center of the tibial spine is the tibio-femoral angle . Aim of the work : Evaluation of the results of hemicircumferential periosteal release for bow leg in children, this procedure based on old theory informing about modified activity of the growth plate of deformed long bones resulting from hemicircumferential periosteal incisions.
