Abstract

Abstract
The economic and financial problems are due to many reasons. One reason is, people’s needs are endless and the economic resources are limited. The other reason is the inequality of distributing the available economic resources. In this thesis, the first reason for the economic and financial problems is considered. Thus, a household finance system reliability (HFSR) is introduced as a special case of the stress-strength model with dependent variables. The economic and financial problems are considered as fundamental problems for households in developing countries. The case of Egyptian households is an example. So, the finance system reliability for households in Egypt is estimated.
In high-dimensional statistics, one of the main problems that face statisticians is modeling the dependence structure between variables. Copula functions have proved to be a flexible tool to illustrate such dependence, independently of their marginal distributions. In this thesis, we introduce four new copula functions. Also, we propose the stress-strength reliability model when the stress-strength variables are dependent and follow the log-logistic distribution.
The values of the Income-consumption reliability estimator in Egypt are small, which indicates a weak finance system. Egyptian households have an economic and financial problem.
