Abstract The study aimed to investigate several aspects during pregnancy and puerperium including early pregnancy diagnosis, prediction of the gestational age with fetometry, uterine involution assessment and determination of progesterone, estradiol and glucose levels. It was conducted on twenty seven Egyptian Baladi does, they subjected to estrous synchronization then after being mated they were subjected to ultrasonographic examination and blood sampling weekly. The study concluded that, early pregnancy diagnosis confirmed on day 24.7±0.38 post mating. Fetometry is a reliable method for determination of gestational age. Parameters, CRL, BPD and TD, correlated more strongly to gestational age (R2 ≥ 0.94). While, FOD, UCD and PS demonstrated a weaker relationship (R2 ≤ 0.90). Progesterone and estradiol hormones in twin pregnancies tended to be higher than that in singleton pregnancies. |
