Abstract

The study area is the Mediterranean Egyptian coast. It lies between longitudes 25°E and 34°E and extends northward to the 33°N latitude. Its surface area is about 154,840 km2, with an estimated water volume of about 225 km3. Mediterranean Sea is characterized by warm to hot, dry summers and mild to cool, wet winters. The Mediterranean Sea shows an excess of evaporation over freshwater inputs. The hydrography of the study area is studied seasonally. The characteristics of mixed layer and thermocline layer are studied monthly over the study area. Also, some parameters of weather conditions (air temperature, atmospheric pressure, relative humidity and wind speed and direction) at four stations (Marsa Matruh, Alexandria, Port Said and AL-Arish) are studied during 2013. The results showed that.
