Abstract

This study was carried out in a broiler farm under the supervision of Animal Production Department, Faculty of Agriculture, Tanta University, during the period from September to November 2018 to investigate the effects of supplementation of different levels of Nigella sativa (0.5, 1.0 and 1.5 %) or Neomycin (0.02%) diet on growth performance, blood biochemical profiles and immune response of broiler chicks. Three hundred one-day-old unsexed Ross broilers chicks were used in this experiment. Birds were individually weighed to the nearest gram, and randomly distributed into five equal experimental groups; with three replicates of 20 chicks in each. The average initial body weights of the treatment groups were nearly similar with no observed significant differences. The chicks were offered two cornsoybean meal basal mash diets that were formulated to meet or exceed the nutritional requirement of growing chicks as recommended by the National Research Council (NRC).
