Abstract Background: Environmental pollution is one of the major problems facing the aquatic environment in Egypt recently. Untreated sewage, agricultural wastes, ship wastes and petroleum companies, and air inputs, are the main sources of heavy metals to aquatic environment in Lake Manzala . The poisoning of fish in the Egyptian lakes by heavy metals, lead to reduce the productivity of these lakes of fish. Heavy metals are one of the most important factors affecting the growth and reproduction of fish and thus affect production.. Conclusion: Biological control of pollution.Periodic investigation of pollutants in the lake and study its effect on fish health. Great efforts and cooperation between different authorities are needed to protect the lake from pollution and reduce environmental risk. This can be achieved by treatment of the agricultural, industrial, and sewage discharge. |
