Abstract This chapter represents a scientific and historical review concerned with the synthesis of porous adsorbents/sensors and their applications in separation/ removal and visual detection/sensing of As(V) and Cu(II) ions from aqueous solutions. Chapter II (Materials and methods) This chapter represents materials, experiments, and techniques that were used in the synthesis and characterization of microporous and mesoporous materials. The chapter also gives the details of experimentation used in studying the visual detection and adsorption behavior toward As(V) and Cu(II) ions from aqueous solutions at different experimental conditions of pH, time and target ions concentrations. Chapter III (Results and Discussion :( The results and discussion are divided into three parts and can be summarized as follow: Part I: In this part, the synthesis of a simple inorganic pH based optical sensor with microporous hollow-spheres for high-performance naked eye detection and removal of arsenate anions from contaminated drinking water was described. The chemical structures and the morphology of the prepared nanocomposite were characterized using various analytical and spectral tools, The fabricated material with a sol-gel technique, in which; silica microspheres template with CTAB was efficiently precipitated on CA then anchored a shell of molybdate anions via a complex formation. This microstructure optical sensor has large surface area to-volume ratios. |
