Abstract

New novel synthetic heterocyclic nitrogenous compounds that could be used as chemical crop protection agents as well as studying the relationships between their chemical structure and biological activity in addition to biochemical activities were studied. The present study includes both chemical and biological sections. nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds groups belong to benzimidazoles divided in to three sections the 1st section is aliphatic benzimidazoles, 2nd section is aromatic benzimidazoles and the 3rd is benzimidazole-2-thiol derivatives with total eighteen derivatives of these nitrogenous heterocyclic compounds were laboratory synthesized and structurally confirmed using several techniques including proton nuclear magnetic resonance (HNMR), ultra violet spectrophotometer (UV),), as well as high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC).
The biological activities of the eighteen prepared compounds were investigated as fungicides against airborne fungi Alternaria alternata, Phytophthora infestans and as soilborne fungi Fusarium oxysporum and Rhizoctonia solani; also as bactericide against Agrobacterium tumefaciens, Pseudomonas solarancearum, Erwinia amylovora as molluscicides against white garden terrestrial snail Thipa pisana in addition to their biochemical interaction of in vivo treatments of highly promising compounds as well as recommended pesticides with different biochemical systems as total ATPase, acetylcholinesterase (AChE); Na+/K+ATPasein.
